Zoom Auto Protect ("ZAP", "Company") is a relatively new entity that appears to have some connections or similarities to Total Auto Protect ("TAP"). Initial observations, such as the connection via the Top 10 Warranty Companies website, where ZAP is featured as the primary warranty company for 2025, have raised questions about potential links between the two companies. Both ZAP and TAP were formed in Delaware using the same registered agent, and they appear to share hosting services with other websites under the Wix platform. Additionally, ZAP's phone number is provided through the same Somos provider as TAP's.
There are also notable similarities between the content on both websites, including some instances of identical text. ZAP's videos raise further questions, as they exhibit characteristics that suggest they may be AI-generated. Several ZAP employment links seem to be inactive, and the links to the company's mobile app in app stores do not appear to functional. A search of both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store yields no results for ZAP's app. Moreover, ZAP does not seem to have a Better Business Bureau (BBB) listing or independent consumer reviews, apart from those posted on their own website. Screenshots and videos related to these observations are provided below.
While these points may not necessarily indicate definitive proof of a direct connection, other factors, such as the integration of quote requests between Top 10 Auto Warranties and TAP's website, the recent focus on Zoom Auto Protect for 2025, and the redirection of certain TAP links to ZAP, strongly suggest that Zoom Auto Protect may be operating under the same ownership or a rebranded identity as Total Auto Protect.

Warranty Check By Vin | warrantycheckbyvin.com This website mimics a VIN number lookup service. It is referenced on ZAP's website and Youtube profile. You can enter a fake VIN (17 characters), it prompts for a bunch of contact information that shouldn't be necessary, and then it tells you that your warranty is good, but you should consider a new warranty. One of their blog posts also references the Top 10 Auto Warranties website and a continuous popup ad features only Zoom Auto Protect. See screenshots and videos below. |
Business Informer | businessinformer.org This website mimics a consumer recommendation service. It is referenced on ZAP's website and Youtube profile. It claims to have a blog, but has no posts. It claims to have reviewed over 5,000 companies and lists a bunch of industry categories, but the only category that works and is linked in the main menu is Car Warranties, which features Zoom Auto Protect. There is a customer review that mentions Total Auto Protect. See screenshots and videos below. |
Top 10 Auto Warranties | top10autowarranties.com As revealed on our Total Auto Protect page, this website is a front for TAP. However, it switched its top pick from Total Auto Protect to Zoom Auto Protect as recently as July 2024 as seen on Wayback Machine. As of March 2025, quote request submissions still land on a Thank You page at Total Auto Protect's website. See screenshots and videos below. |
